Fläkt Woods is the first company within the industry to gain UK Government accreditation under the Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) scheme, for a range of exclusive energy saving products.
ECA is a tax relief that allows businesses to deduct 100% of their qualifying capital expenditure against their taxable profits in the period of the investment.
Fläkt Woods has gained official approval for its RECUTERM® range of plate heat exchangers, its ECOTERM® run-around-coils, and its innovative range of thermal wheels branded REGOTERM®.

Managed by the Carbon Trust, the Energy Technology List: www.ECA.gov.uk details the energy saving products that can qualify for ECA, and under the Air To Air Energy Recovery section, a total of 78 Fläkt Woods products have been classified.
The list details the classes of equipment available for businesses to invest in, broadening the availability of the cash flow benefits that ECA can provide, and increasing the potential long-term energy savings that can be gained through investment in qualifying products.

REGOTERM® is a range of rotary heat exchangers that can be delivered either as hygroscopic or non-hygroscopic wheels. Both types of thermal wheel transfer the sensible energy from the exhaust air to the supply air, which means that heat is generally transferred in winter, and cooling transferred in summer. The hygroscopic wheel not only recovers the sensible energy in both summer and winter mode but also transfers the moisture, providing humidification in winter time and dehumidification in summer time. Both wheels provide not only a considerable reduction in the need for additional cooling and heating capacity, but also a significant decrease in the required cooling and heating energy. Up to 85% of the energy in the exhaust air can be recovered in this way. It is available as a standard component in the EU, EC and STING unit.
RECUTERM® plate heat exchanger provides heat recovery efficiency of between 50-60%, combined with a low risk of odour and bacteria transfer. It is simple to install, with no need of control or pumps, and is available as a standard component in the EU and EC unit.
Fläkt Woods ECOTERM® run around coil system recovers 50-60% of the heat from the exhaust air and radically lowers heating costs for ventilation air. As it incorporates separate coils connected in a closed liquid circuit, there is no need for the supply and exhaust unit to be in the same plant area giving flexibility in where the plant is situated. There is no risk of air transfer between the two air paths.
