Fläkt Woods has broken new ground, with the launch of the intelligent fan system (iFan), with a revolutionary intelligent control system that regulates the amount of energy required to operate the system, by adjusting the power consumption to match system demands.
When fitted with Fläkt Woods’ Intelligent Control Unit, iFan is the perfect solution for modern buildings where restricted space requires compact fans offering lower noise levels and an energy efficient system, such as toilets, offices, apartments, shops and stores
The iFan is a fully integrated system with sensors, switches valves and duct mounted dampers, enabling users to benefit from a one stop shop arrangement for technical, hard ware and after sales support.
The Intelligent Control Unit is built into every iFan unit, significantly reducing enabling times and leading to minimal installation costs. Plug and play sensor connectors provide quick simple installation for remote functions (up to 8 per fan), including CO2 detection, humidity levels and pressure.
This significantly cuts the field wiring costs. Designers have only to determine the maximum demand and what conditions need to be monitored. A built in sensor monitors running hours and advises you when its next service is due.
Commissioning is fast and simple; the fan comes as a pre-wired unit so the contractor needs only to connect the appropriate sensors and power supply. The iFan envirologic controller is programmed to be enabled within an existing BMS system, or it can act independently.
The single-phase unit saves energy costs, increases wellbeing for building owners and extends the life of the unit.
The fan is suitable for duct sizes ranging from 125mm - 400mm diameter and can be easily mounted in ceiling voids, close to occupied space in the building. It is lined with acoustic grade mineral wool insulation to ensure the lowest possible break-out noise levels. Careful attention was given during the design stage to ensure the products have a modern aesthetic appearance if fans are mounted in exposed locations.
Volume flows are impressive, with 0.69 m³/s and with equally impressive static pressures of up to 450 Pa. It can operate up to 40°C and 95% relative humidity, and is suitable for either horizontal or vertical air up mounting.
A solid modular galvanised steel construction allows for the fan/motor assembly to be easily removed whilst the unit is in situ to allow for periodic cleaning. With fixed circular and outlet spigots, the casings, like the robust 220-240V / 50Hz motor is made to last.
Motor bearings are maintenance free with a life expectancy L10 of 40,000 hours and can operate at any angle. Bearings are designed for continuous use. They are pre-lubricated and sealed-for-life, eliminating any need for maintenance
The new fan can be interconnected so that it is controlled by the same switching devices and conditions sensors. This is an extremely useful feature when a number of systems serve the same area. The inlet and outlet spigots posses a revolutionary sealing system unique to Fläkt Woods.
