Fläkt Woods Ltd in the UK has completed its move to their new 155,000 sq feet (14,400 sq metres) headquarters and manufacturing facilities at Axial Way in Colchester, known as Project Genesis. The move is significant as it heralds a new start for the Colchester manufacturing operations of Fläkt Woods, and a huge Group investment and commitment to the UK.

Outlay in equipment alone has been far-reaching, with the multi million pound purchase of an exclusive range of bespoke machines to the fan manufacturing market. These will allow the Company to constantly improve all of the in-house manufacturing processes, continuing to provide world-class products to their global customer base.

The opening ceremony takes place on the 22nd September where Bob Russell, local MP and supporter of the move will carry out proceedings, accompanied by other local dignitaries and a number of key customers. The ceremony is preceded with technical presentations as well as a tour of the facilities.

“As a Group, we can now offer a full range of products and solutions for buildings ventilation, air treatment and industrial air movement”, says Neil Yule, Sales and Marketing Director. “We believe that this capability gives us a clear advantage over other companies in what is still a generally fragmented industry”.

“As well as machine tools, the Company has invested heavily in a new Research and Development facility to enable us to maintain and develop our innovative range of products and solutions. Modern open plan offices have also brought a spirit of camaraderie that was never achievable in the 1950’s office block that was previously our headquarters building”.

“This ongoing transformation of Fläkt Woods is the key to maintaining our ability to win contracts globally”, continues Neil. “The move will propel the Company into a new era with ambitions to grow the sales in the air movement industry, through acquisition and development”.

“At the same time we are improving our business performance, and standardising all of our processes” concludes Neil. “The Company has been transformed, and we look forward to an exciting and successful future”.
