Fläkt Woods has signed a cooperation agreement with Baosteel Industry Inspection Corp. in Shanghai. Baosteel Industry Inspection is a subsidiary to Baosteel group, the biggest Iron & Steel maker in China and among the top ten Iron & Steel makers in the world.
Mr Loic Espiet, Fläkt Woods Solyvent-Ventec, and a representative of
Baosteel in Shanghai is signing the cooperation agreement.
Fläkt Woods has cooperated with Baosteel in industrial fan applications for years, which have been successfully used in fan retrofit projects of Baosteel's iron smelting unit and steel smelting electric furnace unit.
As a result, Baosteel-Fläkt Woods fan technology center has been established on June 26, 2004. A representative of Baosteel and Mr. Loic Espiet Fläkt Woods Solyvent-Ventec signed the agreement at Baosteel in Shanghai.
There are 2700 industrial fans in operation in Baosteel, they are used in applications such as raw material mill fans, chemical plant fans, energy plant fans, smelting plant fans and steel rolling mill fans and 400 of these are large fans. Baosteel regularly needs to upgrade and revamp fans and with this agreement Fläkt Woods now has first priority to get these jobs.
