Fläkt Woods is supplying a range of fans for an exclusive new retail, office and residential project in Knightsbridge, London, designed by architects SMC Zeidler.
The €134 million scheme is currently under construction by Laing O’Rourke, where the contractors are working on a 10 storey building in Lancelot Place, as well as two adjacent structures Brompton Road.

At Lancelot Place, Flakt Woods’ is supplying its high temperature JM fans and iFans for the 53 upmarket flats. The ifans are are all roof mounted and provide extract for the bathroom areas. They are supplied with in-built sensors that activate the system when bathrooms are occupied, regulating the amount of energy required to operate, by adjusting the power consumption to match system demands.
The system, which complies with the new Part L building regulations, has already proved itself, significantly reducing enabling times and leading to minimal installation costs. Plug and play sensor connectors can also provide quick simple installation for remote functions (up to 8 per fan), CO2 detection, humidity levels and pressure.
Designers have only to determine the maximum demand and what conditions need to be monitored.
The Brompton Road complex includes a mixture of retail, office and residential accommodation, with associated car parking.
