Fläkt Woods has won the most important environmental award patented in Nordic countries, for their energy efficient CentriflowPlus plug fan, significantly more efficient than comparable fans.
The Swedish "Stora Inneklimatspriset 2005" award for indoor air improvement went to the Flakt Woods’ CentriflowPlus fan - the most efficient fan of its type in the world. The significance of this award cannot be overemphasised as Nordic countries have always placed extreme importance on energy efficiency.
CentriflowPlus is already used in Fläkt Woods' air handling unit series EU, EC and STING. Its outstanding performance in efficiency - up to 77% - means an extremely economical electricity consumption and ultra low life cycle costs.
The plug fan is used for a high proportion of normal building ventilation needs. And the CentriflowPlus is a direct driven, extremely flexible fan, that is easy to clean and maintain.
As the fan energy is approx 45% of the total energy used in a normal heating and cooling AHU, it is important that every AHU component should be as efficient and low pressure as possible, and the CentriflowPlus works with the every other components to help to reduce the energy consumption accordingly. A patented diffuser allows a lower outlet velocity. This means in a higher static pressure rise and, in turn, a higher level efficiency. Significantly lower noise level is also an environmental factor.
