Fläkt Woods in Germany has introduced a monitoring unit for its Econet System, known as REMO. It is capable of checking and controlling all temperature functions remotely, leading to energy saving advantages for customers.
Manufactured by Siemens, it has multi temperature sensors for both water and air and can be connected via Econet’s installed modem, which means that the customer can have total control of the situation no matter where he is.
The system will also collect all sensor information and store the information in the internal memory. When the memory is full, REMO will automatically use the modem and call a remote computer, which is installed in Fläkt Woods’ office in Butzbach, Germany.
All data stored on the computer will be examined, and compared against the information from many systems over time, enabling REMO to calculate most favourable energy efficiency, thus saving energy costs.
The Fläkt Woods Group is now capitalising on the investments made in this German pilot project and will introduce an even more versatile Econet controls solution during the first quarter of 2007.
Econet is a packaged liquid-coupled heat recovery system with a unique optimising control system offering highly efficient use of energy, linked with space flexibility. The system is supplied complete with all necessary components starting with the optimised heat exchangers with condensate drain pans on supply and exhaust to allow both heating and cooling in each coil. The system is complete with pump, frequency inverter, controls and all necessary valves and sensors.
