Energy saving products and solutions
Here are some examples of Fläkt Woods' energy efficient air handling and indoor climate solutions.
| eQ Air Handling Unit |
| |
A new range of air handling units with energy efficient components, a wide range of alternative energy recovery systems and integrated controls enables energy optimisation for each application. |
| Econet |
Liquid coupled (coil) energy recovery system with a prefabricated pump-unit with frequency inverter and integrated controls for continuous optimisation of the recovery efficiency. Unique system design allows usage of waste heat, district heating and district cooling. Apart from energy savings, this system also eliminates the risk for contamination. |
| Ecoterm |
Liquid coupled (coil) energy recovery system. Apart from energy savings, this system also eliminates the risk for contamination. |
| EQRS |
| |
The EQRS rotary heat exchanger has a compact design and fast absorption of moisture, giving a high latent efficiency even at high air flow rates. The EQRS offers very high efficiency, up to 85 %. The high cooling efficiency saves energy, improves the quality of the indoor climate and reduces the volume of cooling water required. |
| |
| Reguterm / Turboterm |
A complete range of non-hygroscopic (heat transfer only) and hygroscopic (heat transfer and moisture transfer) rotary heat exchangers. The two efficiency variants enables optimisation for each application taking climatic conditions and costs for heating and electrical energy into consideration. When the outdoor temperature is higher than the exhaust air temperature, cooling recovery can be applied. |
| Recuterm |
Plate heat exchanger with section defrosting for high energy efficiency. |
| Combi Cooler |
| |
The Combi Cooler cools water which is subsequently used to cool supply air and a chilled beam circuit. It can also produce cold water for the chilled beam circuit while simultaneously heating the supply air using heat from an external system. The supply air temperature is 15-16 °C in traditional systems. With the Combi Cooler, the temperature is 18 °C, offering significant energy savings. Energy consuming condensation is also avoided. |
| |
| ReCooler |
| |
The ReCooler’s condenser is located in the extract air after the rotor. When cooling is required and the outdoor air is warmer than the extract air, the supply air is cooled and dehumidified in the rotor, and is then recooled to the desired temperature in the ReCooler’s evaporator. When heating is required, the hygroscopic rotor provides high heat and moisture recovery. |
| |
| Optivent |
Air flow damper for variable air volume (VAV) systems. Energy savings are achieved from its working principle where the airflow is adapted to actual load. The built-in display and easy setting of min. and max. flows enables a fast and cost efficient installation and commissioning. |
| STRA Room Controllers |
A complete range of room controllers for VAV-, Chilled Beam and Fancoil applications. Pre programmed with innovative functions for energy efficiency and comfort, a wide range of accessories such as CO2- and occupancy sensors, Modbus communication as standard makes them a flexible platform for every application. |
| Twin Wheel |
Packaged system consisting of two rotary heat exchangers and integrated controls. Suitable for applications where there is a need for dehumidification and reheat of the air, e.g. chilled beam system in climates with high humidity. The control sequence optimises the cooling and heating recovery and thereby reduces need for additional cooling and heating energy at the same time as the risk for condensation is eliminated. |
Fläkt Woods offers a wide range of energy efficient fans that maximise installed efficiency and minimise energy consumption
| EC Fans - Centriflow Plus |
| |
An innovative aerodynamic design produces record-breaking efficiency. The fan’s most important property, its efficiency, is up to 10% higher than traditional plenum fans. As a result, the Centriflow PLUS fans have the same total efficiency rating as double suction fans. The fan can be supplied with high efficient motors such as IE2-type asynchronous motors or EC motors. These combined factors result in minimal electricity consumption and LCC costs.

| Twist Wing Axial Flow Fans |
This unique design approach has been developed to allow improved performances and efficiency when using foot-mounted motors and heralds a new generation of fans. Tested to the ISO 5801; installation category type D, the catalogue performance is ‘as installed’ in the required configuration, duct mounted with connections up and downstream. The Twist Wing can also be supplied suitable for emergency use at temperature time categories H.T. 200/2 to 400/2, still using high efficiency motors and approved to EN12101-3 test standard. |
| e3 Line A – JM Aerofoil Axial Fans |
Energy saving options with EFF1 motors. All fans are tested to the latest internationally recognised standard IS05801 Part 1 (1997), installation category D (AMCA approved) for aerodynamic performance and BS848 Part 2 (1985) for acoustic performance. e3 Line A range of axial flow fans are compatible with the FWX range of inverter drives, thereby offering a complete energy package. |
| e3 Line M – Mixed Flow Fans |
| |
The facts speak for themselves: 50% increase in fan efficiency and 30% reduction of energy usage. This all helps to preserve the natural environment and reduce running costs. In addition, it is often possible to select a more compact solution and benefit from speed control to further reduce energy usage and save money. |
| |
| ECO Heat Recovery Range |
5 product ranges are available within the ECO HR Range. Volume Flow up to 3.33 m³/s and static pressure up to 500 Pa. Plate heat exchanger efficiencies and thermal efficiencies up to 93%. Plug and play option available. |
