Fläkt Woods has won a prestigious contract supplying the ventilation requirements for the Norwegian Pavilion at the forthcoming Shanghai Expo in China.
Themed around a country of forests, fjords, mountains and coastlines, the Norwegian experience will consist of 15 model “trees” each offering different experiences. The topic "Norway, powered by nature” is also a reflection of Fläkt Woods’ philosophy of being environmentally conscious, delivering fresh, clean and healthy air for all its customers.
"The quality of life in Norway is great because you have a very close relationship between city and nature. In designing the pavilion, we hope to bring nature into the city," said Reinhard Kropf and Siv Helene Stangeland, a Norwegian couple who are the chief designers of the pavilion.
Fläkt Woods engineers recommended products that are renowned for both their outstanding energy saving performance and their ability to provide clean fresh air. They suggested a combination of chilled beams and the Company’s EU air handlers.
Included in the contract is the provision of 38 Flexicool® QPBA passive chilled beams, which provide efficient cost-effective cooling, and with the absence of moving parts require little maintenance. The units are flush-mounted and were supplied in narrow configurations with 290mm widths.
The EU air handlers incorporate high efficiency fans equipped with airflow measurement devices. The 2 supply and exhaust EU units, feature high efficiency particulate filters with patented sealing frame to allow clean & rapid filter, replacement run-around coil recovery systems, heating, integrated local cooling and integrated local controls.
