10 air handling units to supply indoor air to the Expo Center
Fläkt Woods has been contracted by Climat 80 AB, to supply the air handling requirements for Sweden’s innovative Malmö Expo Center, which is currently under construction adjacent to the Malmö City Arena.
The entire facility will be of 16 000 square meters and will in addition to the exhibition hall, which is on 11 500 square meters, include four large meeting rooms for a total of 800 persons and a restaurant. Construction is scheduled to be completed in February 2012 when the first exhibition is booked.
The eQ range from Fläkt Woods is a modern, highly adaptable air handling unit, offering a selection of state-of-the-art features; intelligent controls, energy efficient components and a flexible design.
By combining all these developments into one system, Fläkt Woods has achieved the best energy solutions possible. This strategy requires that the systems and individual components are designed together.
Included in the package are Fläkt Woods' thermal wheels, which provide the most efficient method of energy recovery currently available. They will recover up to 85% (typically 75-85%) of the energy in the extract air, and are normally made of aluminium (although other materials are used) which rotate slowly vertically, to the supply and extract airflows.
Total air flow for all units is approximately 80 m³/s. Delivery of units will take place during summer 2011.
