Fans for fire safety

Fläkt Woods offers a wide range of fans specifically designed for use in emergency fire ventilation and smoke extract situations. Fans are suitable for continuous when providing general ventilation or process cooling, but in the event of a fire, fans are able to provide a one-off emergency service. Fans are essential in clearing smoke from the fire area to allow escape routes for building users, assist fire services in fighting fire and minimising the damage to the building.
Fläkt Woods high temperature smoke fans, including JM HT axial fans, Centrimaster® GT and Roofmaster® STEF fans, are designed and tested to the most modern standards to ensure their efficient operation in a fire situation. Fläkt Woods JM HT range have been independently tested to the new European norm EN 12101-3, creating the widest range of approved smoke extract fans.

Smoke Master SMIA

In case of fire, pressurisation keeps the staircase free of smoke and provides thereby a safe evacuation route for residents. In addition to this it improves the rescue personnel's working conditions and minimizes material damages.

• Smoke Master SMIA is a complete solution for staircase pressurisation and smoke extraction.
• SMIA consists of integrated smoke extraction doors, a fan unit, an operation panel and a control unit.
• SMIA is designed to be used in residential buildings with less than eight storeys.
• Due to the compact construction of the fan unit SMIA is well adapted to many renovation projects.
• SMIA is available in one size with standard air flow rate and it can be used in staircases of various heights.

Fire and Smoke Dampers

Fire & smoke dampers are used to prevent spread of fire and smoke via ventilation ducts in case of fire. Fläkt Woods product range includes a wide range of fire dampers for different market needs. New EN-norms have been base of product development projects. Early fire detection with smoke detector combined with our automated control systems for fire dampers is Fläkt Woods´s answer for modern Fire Damper solution.

Smoke dampers
Smoke dampers are used to prevent smoke spread via ventilation ducts. Smoke dampers are always delivered with spring-return actuators, which are normally controlled by smoke detectors to be able to get the earliest signal for fire. Smoke extraction dampers are often used with combination with smoke extraction fans STEF or JM-HT.

• FSD is a circular E-class smoke damper
• ETPS-E is a rectangular E-class smoke damper
• FED is a circular smoke extraction damper
• ETES is a rectangular smoke extraction damper

Fire dampers
Fire dampers are used to prevent fire and smoke spread via ventilation ducts. ETPR-EI, ETPR-120-EI and ETPS-EI fire dampers are delivered with spring-return actuators or with spring loaded fusible link. ETPR-E and ETPR-17 are always delivered with spring loaded fusible link. All spring-return actuators for fire dampers are also available with a thermoelectric trip, which monitors the temperature in the duct. The safety function is triggered automatically if the limit values are exceeded.
